Dear Parishioner:
I am writing to inform you of the status of our “Rebuild” of the 1950’s Collapsed Section of the School and our plans to “Renovate” the 1920’s Section of the School.
Our insurance company, Catholic Mutual, will cover the “Rebuild” of the Collapsed Section of the School, which includes the basement. We currently have approved design/construction plans and began construction of the “Rebuild” Section in May 2010.
It made sense to “Renovate” the 1920’s Section of the School at the same time the “Rebuild” of the Collapsed Section was being accomplished. Therefore, we are conducting a St. John’s Capital Campaign – School “Renovate” Project for the 1920’s Section of the School. We plan not only to make cosmetic improvements so the “Renovate” Section of the School meets the same high quality, building codes and technical standards of the “Rebuild” Section, but to upgrade the wiring, replace the heating system and replace all flooring to name just a few.
We need to raise $500,000 for the Capital Campaign for the 1920’s Section of the School. The funds need to be raised over the next few months to be able to accomplish the “Rebuild” and the “Renovate” of the two structures simultaneously. This will allow us to bring our students “home” by Christmas.
You have been extremely generous to St. John’s in the past. The Monsignor Harris Center is proof of the generosity of St. John’s Parishioners. I ask you to join me in supporting this very important Capital Campaign – School “Renovate” Project that will benefit St. John’s for years to come.
You will find a pledge form/envelope enclosed. We need every parish member’s support to meet our goals and bring our students “home”. Please join me in continuing the proud tradition of St. John’s. We ask that you return your donation/donation plan by June 15, 2010. Again, thank you for your continued support of St. John’s.
